Introduction

Once again Metal Bulletin Events is bringing together the key players in India’s metal industry to discuss the latest developments and future projects. This event provides unparalleled networking opportunities and an insight into this fast growing industry.

Indian companies have created headlines around the globe with their increasingly central role in recent privatisation and global consolidation activity. We’ll discuss these developments and what they mean for India’s global metals industry. One of the key concerns in the metals industry is whether the availability and supply of raw materials can keep pace with demand. With the government assessing new ways to entice foreign investment for prospecting and mining our panel of experts will discuss India’s mining policies and the much needed reforms.

This conference will evaluate the supply and demand issues relating to the markets for copper and aluminium: how much is needed and where? With predicted demand for both these metals where are producers securing raw materials? In the past few years the booming automotive industry has been a real boost for the galvanized sheet industry. We’ll be considering what this demand will mean for the lead and zinc industry. How much growth is really expected and which metals are likely to benefit or suffer as a result?
